Agricola Filippone oregano is cultivated in open fields and in high mountains (1000m from sea level), in the territory of Madonie Mountain Reserve.

Origanum, in fact, originates from "òros" (mountain) and "ganào" (delighted); the most prominent interpretations bring the origin of the name to the concept of "mountain delight" or beauty, brightness, ornamental joy of the mountain. The Madonie lends itself to the cultivation of this special oregano and along with the Sicilian sun creates this unmistakable aroma and delicate flavor that is entirely different from the typical oregano sold in supermarkets.

The Fillipone family also uses methods that respect the land and environment in their growing and weeding processes by using all organic guidelines and in accordance with the original roots preserving this rural tradition.
